St Petersburg (August 2017)

Church of the Saviour on Blood viewed from the canals of St Petersburg.

The bridges of St Petersburg famously rise in the wee-hours of the morning to let large vessels through.
St Isaacs Cathedral. Looks quite parliamentary to me!
A library or study inside the Hermitage. The Hermitage is the largest museum in arts and culture in the world. I certainly think it is larger and grander than the Louvre (albeit with less reknowned works!)
Grand corridors!

The bistro food in St Petersburg was DIVINE. I liked the food better much than Moscow - it was generally more modern and not as touristy (or maybe we just got better at finding good restaurants haha). This beef tartare with mushroom consommé was delicious and light with hints of umami flavour.

Peterhof Gardens.
The incredible golden fountains at Peterhof Palace.
The place was very crowded but we managed to get some brilliant shots whilst the sun was still out.
Bye bye Peterhof!
