Northern Beaches - Easter Weekend

/ Thursday, 20 April 2017 /
Spent a quiet and very relaxing Easter Weekend at Mona Vale.
Vu and I went to Palm Beach on the second day for brunch at the Boathouse, stopping nearby for the gorgeous views!

North Narrabean lagoon / beach. There were so many young families camping and caravan-ing here. A line of kids were jumping off a pipe, extending off a bridge, into the water.

Boathouse brunch at Palm Beach. The food here is delicious (especially the fish and chips), but it did hit the wallet a bit hard considering the fancy location. It's located next to a small wharf, with a perfect view of palm beach and landing sea-planes. The cafĂ© is also decked out with huge flower bouquets and bowls of lemons and fruit.
Discovered an awesome Austrian place for dinner on the second night (Das Bierhaus in Mona Vale). I was surprised how good it was and how it reminded me so much of the food in Germany. The smoked ham and gravy was to die for. It goes without saying that I loved the kitsch wooden sled the food came on! Vu had an enormous pork knuckle covered with pork crackling and lots of saurkraut. We demolished our food despite the huge portion size...(we also decided an hour later that it was about time we both went on a diet LOL).

Being silly (but seriously, look at my lighthouse tophat!). On the way to Barrenjoey lighthouse at Palm Beach.

We perched on a rock overlooking the cliffs for a few minutes as the sun went down.
The northern beaches sparkled for us when we left Barrenjoey lighthouse.
