Drawings and new exhibitions in Sydney

/ Saturday, 27 August 2016 /
I am slowly getting back into sketching (mostly because I was procrastinating about an exam in the past week / was misusing my study leave).

I have started full-time work this year and I sadly haven't had the motivation to draw and paint. Instead, to get my bi-weekly art dose, I have been visiting the gallery or frequenting art festivals. Of what I have seen, the new free exhibition in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney would be at the top of my list. If you are nearby, I really recommend the performance artist in the dome at the front of the museum and the Patrica Piccinini installation on level 1. The themes generally center around technology, genetic mutation, genetic engineering and human interactions with the natural environment. I love how the exhibits are quite interactive and make use of all five senses.

Back to my point, I was being all *nostalgic* and was flicking through drawings I did when I was around 18 or 19. I realised how much better I used to be! It makes me realise practice does make perfect.
